Dark surprise?

Some people have obviously been taken by surprise by the nights getting darker earlier. Maybe the clocks going back wasn't a big enough clue for them that it will be dark sooner.

If it's not a pedestrian in the middle of the road trying to cross, it's a cyclist jumping a red light or even some car drivers who decide they can see in the dark.

These three have something in common; we can't bloody see them!!

The pedestrian in the middle of the road scared the life out of me as I passed! They had obviously got t0 the middle of the road when one side was clear, but hadn't thought about how to not get hit when they stood in the middle of two lanes of passing traffic. No doubt, if they had been struck, we would have been told that it was the drivers fault.

Some cyclists seem to think that traffic rules don't apply to them and to some extent I sympathise. They get no real encouragement to actually use bikes in the first place, unless we count the cycle lanes, I guess some are adequate. But that doesn't mean they don't need lights, or not to stop at red lights, when they have no lights themselves and no one else can see them!

And as for the drivers who decide that they don't need those new fangled lights, well guess what; you do you moron. Here's a tip for you, if you can't read your speedo because it's too dark, you need to use your lights. Why I think an idiot like this would actually check what speed they were doing is another thing, but you've got to try.
