I used to think that politics was for oily toffs, who couldn't get other jobs. Yeah, that's probably still true, however, it's becoming more apparent that I need to know more about politics.

Now, I'd love to stick my head in the sand and go all Homer Simpson, I think 'he' said we pay politicians to think for us. Well, look where that's getting us.

It's a hard and often thankless job, I'm sure. But I always feel that the politicians that are supposed to be representing me are out of step with how the real world is.

So, here I go, delving into the unknown. I just need to figure out where the hell I start!

Polls

Does anyone trust polls? When you read that 70 people out of 100 like tomatoes, do we really believe that the poll is relative?

The problem with polls, is that they are conducted by people on the streets, you know the ones. Why on earth do we want to know what mad harry, on his way to swap is favourite mug for a tooth brush, eats for dinner?

People are idiots, what the hell can we learn from idiots?
